It’s exactly 20 years, today February 28, 2018, since I’ve been living in Belgium but It feels like I just arrived yesterday. Where did the time go?
When I came here, I didn’t know anyone , I didn’t know the languages and I didn’t know what to expect. I came to work as a an Au Pair (nanny) and the sister to my would be boss made all the travel arrangements, so I had not met my host family yet either, I would be meeting them for the very first time when I arrived.
Living in Belgium hasn’t been easy at all but through my church International Church of Brussels, I have a few friends I can now call family. I can now speak the languages and in 2011, I got my resident permit (I came on diplomatic status) and since August 2016, I qualify to apply for nationality which I will do as soon as compile all the documents I need. I am so thankful for God’s faithfulness to me.
I will share a more detailed post on why I came to Belgium and how life has been living here for so long but today I just want to thank the Lord for keeping me.
I’ve had a lot ups and downs but overall, the Lord has been good to me. I may not be where I want to be but I am so grateful that I am not where I used to be and I am a work in progress, God is not done with me yet. My future is still uncertain but because ‘He lives, I can face tomorrow, all fear is gone, because I know He holds the future and life is worth the living because He lives!’. He who began a good work in me, will be faithful to complete it…Thank you Lord for your faithfulness and your mercies that are new every morning!
I hope you enjoyed reading the post. Thanks for stopping by.
Stay blessed
