It looks like I have to come up with a strategy to have more numbers on my blog and my social media pages

I can totally relate to that but the reason is those increasing numbers are sometimes not the real people but the bots scanning the social media if you don’t follow them back, they will not follow you. So don’t fret. People who really like your content will still keep on following you.
