Age is just a number!

(Response to the Daily Prompt Word: Age)

They say age is just a number but for a long time, I didn’t believe that. On my 30th birthday, I was so depressed, I didn’t enjoy it at all because all I could see approaching was the big 4!

When I turned 40 however, I started looking at age in a different perspective, I decided I wasn’t going to let age change me but to change the way I age and I started enjoying it. I challenged myself to start doing things I didn’t do before to prove to myself that age wasn’t going to slow me down.

I am now 40+ and I can testify that indeed age is just a number. I feel younger than my age and a lot of people have told me that I look younger my age. I feel more energetic than I did in my 20s or 30s…..I have run two half marathons in my 40s!

I totally agree with whoever said ‘Life begins at 40’….my life has began and I am enjoying my forties and no sir, age won’t stop me! 🙂

I will not let age change me, I will change the way I age!

I really appreciate your comments and support! Its so true that society puts too much pressure on us but we just have live the best way we can because we are all blessed differently.

  2. It’s so great to hear someone embracing their forties instead of bemoaning them! I’ve struggled with being ‘middle aged’ and not really having met my goals. I’m going to use a bit of your inspiration to change my view and start rocking my forties!
